It made the local news. I don't know what they used in Parma but his pie is really good.

An American won best world pizza?! And he doesn't cook them over a wood fire in a kiln?! I'm very surprised...and skeptical.

The owner, Paul, of Gelsosomo's in Crown Point, IN has won the World Pizza Championships in Parma, Italy. We went there the week before he left to compete. Really good sauce, sweet and savory, like a homegrown tomato, He would benefit from Aurelio's brick oven, but other than that, it was really good pizza. Crust could be a little crisper but a worthy competitor, for sure.
