Chicago 6th Most Influential City in the World

Chicago gains in global cities ranking

Chicago is the 6th most influential city in the world according to a recent study. As a Chicagoan we were the 2nd city in the United States in population behind New York. Los Angeles replaced us as number 2 in population. But it is better to be number 6 in the world then second or third in the United States. We followed New York, London, Tokyo, Paris and Hong Kong. The ranking shows the influence a city has beyond its own borders.

As a Chicagoan I am proud that we are so influential. But I also note that the Chicago Council on Global Affairs was one of the three authors of the study. So there may be a slight bias here. But part of our heritage is to vote early and often, and we accept and ballyhoo the findings.

Beggar's Pizza Night - Friday, December 9th at 7:00 PM

Hey EMPEHI Pizza Lovers, and/or lovers of conversation and whatnot, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. A while back there was a request for a Beggar's Pizza night to be on Friday, December 9th at 7:00 pm. Well, that is still the game plan for anyone who is interested. So, hope to see a large turn-out for a great way to start off the Christmas Holiday season. Should I ask if we can have the pizza baked in the shape of a Christmas Tree?? or, any other Holiday representation??

It's the Beggar's Pizza at the corner of 115th and Kedzie in beautiful downtown Merrionette Park, IL (it's on the
south side of 115th Street)

Any questions??, drop me an e-mail.

MPHS Reunion Aug 3-5 2012

Mark Your Calendars

We will be having the Friday night function at Lexington House on August 3, 2012 and the Saturday night function at the Tinley Park Convention Center/Holiday Inn where we will also have a block of rooms for out of towners or those who want to party into the early hours.

The Committee is also still looking for people to plan and orchestrate a Sunday function of some type, perhaps to include children and/or grandchildren and perhaps not.

Further details will be provided immediately after the holidays -- for now, please mark your calendars for August 3-5, 2012 and get the word out to those who may not be on this site.
