The Empehi Reunion Association is well into the planning of a reunion for August 3-5, 2012. Based upon the success of earlier reunions, we are planning a casual Friday night event and a Saturday dinner. Details will be forthcoming on this new website  – register now on the "Sign In" page so you get all the announcements!

The Reunion Committee is looking for volunteers to organize small group activities which might include a Sunday picnic, a golf tournament, Navy Pier Crawl, Chicago River architectural cruise, a trip to the Art Institute or a White Sox game. Of course, the ever popular Morgan Park High School tour is on the agenda and grammar school get-togethers will need to be planned by those groups, too. Which of these interest you the most?

Please let us know if you would like to organize one of these small group events, by using the "contact us" link on the website at www.morganparkhigh.com or morganparkhigh.myevent.com.

Please get the word out to those who may not receive this e-mail, or classmates from 1964 or 1968 who might be interested in attending. Send them to the website to sign in. This is a great time to reconnect with your old classmates and let them know about the reunion. Hope to see you in Chicago this August.

You and Your Old Dentist

Have you ever been guilty of looking at others your own age and saying, “surely I can’t look that old?”

Well, I was sitting in the waiting room waiting for my first appointment with my new dentist. I noticed his name on his diploma. Suddenly I remember the tall handsome boy I had gone to high school with forty plus years ago. I wondered if he could be the same guy I had a secret crush on many years ago.

Upon seeing him I asked if he had attended Morgan Park High School?

“Yes, I did”, he said. “I was a Mustang.” He said, gleaming.

“When did you graduate?” I asked.

“In 1966” he replied. “Why do you ask?”

“You were in my class!” I exclaimed.

He looked at me closely, and then that old, wrinkled, ugly man asked, “What did you teach?”

Thanks to Barb Schultz Reese Jan 66 for submitting.

Beggar's Pizza Night Get-Together

Hello Beggar's Pizza Fans,

Just a friendly reminder that this coming Friday, February 3rd at 7:00 PM is a Beggar's Pizza Night Get-Together. So, if you've never attended one of these fun times, "come on down" and if you've been to one before, well then, you know that it's always a good time and an entertaining evening with some of the Best pizza in the city & suburbs. We'll have stories and jokes and plenty of laughter; a great opportunity to kick back and relax and forget about whatever ails you; so, hope to see a whole bunch of you there.

Where??....you ask??...Beggar's Pizza at 115th & Kedzie in beautiful downtown Merrionette Park, Illinois.

Hi,
Just wanted to thank everybody who attended last Friday night's Beggar's Pizza Night get-together; it was another successful evening of fun, that's for sure. Friday Nights seem to be the better night on which to have these get-togethers, as we once again stayed until 10:30PM; and we didn't even need any Geritol cocktails to keep us awake, either.

We had a great time and lots of good fellowship, laughs and stories and of course some fantastic pizza. There was a really good crowd on hand; there were 11 of us this time, Jane Jezuit Grable, Marlene Walko, Chris Leo, Jan Leo McNeff, Nancy Meilner Konkol, Lois Jacob Galbraith and her husband Merle, Tom Schildhouse and his wife Karen, Chuck Thompson and yours truly. It was great to have some new faces come this time, and we hope they'll return again, as well as seeing some of the "regulars", too.

If you haven't made a Beggar's Pizza Night before, please think about attending. It's a nice way to see some old friends and/or make some new friends.

We will be having another Beggar's Night soon, (as, we still have some coupons to use up, not that we won't get any new ones) and I will keep you posted regarding the next date. Take care.
