"When the Chicago Riverwalk is completed in 2016, it will be the city’s most visible and ambitious new public space after Millennium Park, which just celebrated its 10th anniversary. And like the park, it represents the further evolution of the downtown landscape from an industrial corridor into a recreational center, and the reclamation of the Chicago River from a shipping canal-slash-sewer into a centerpiece of 21st century Chicago.."
