A belated update on the Phoenix mini reunion last week. In attendance were Carole Blakemore Sevier, Shirley Spannuth Varney, Marge and Ron McComb, Janet Wagner Sheppard, Kathy Johnson and Will Hepburn. The pizza at the Mellow Mushroom was great, but there was a motion made to hold the next mini at the new Portillos in Scottsdale. Gotta keep our Italian beef levels up, you know.
Marie checked in a day or two after the reunion because she was in town from Italy, caring for her mother. If we had known we could have delivered pizza to Marie's and met there. Next time, Marie . . .
There were Empehi year books and lively discussions about lots of neighborhood icons including Joe Oswald's book Beverly Hills: The Village in the City.
I would encourage any of you who want to organize a mini reunion near you to contact Judy Halligan Willingham for a list of classmates in your area. the only effort involved is picking a meeting place and sending out a couple of emails. Minis have been held in peoples homes and in restaurants, so you can't do it wrong.
