They're Back!! The Locusts!!


THEY’RE BACK! Get ready for some loud days and evenings—cicadas that were buried 17 years ago are about to make a springtime racket.

Researchers say the noisy bugs should start emerging this weekend, especially in Western Illinois.

But don’t worry—after this crop dies in a few weeks, the next wave shouldn’t hit until 2031.
