First TV

Here I am pictured with our new Zenith portable TV, our first... My parents finally had to give in and buy one in 1957, so they could keep me home from the neighbors . What are your early tv memories ?? Note the Chicago bungalow built in fake fireplace and mantel, flanked by shelf units on either side....

  Anne Wolfe Levinsky No color tv until i bought my own 13" for my bedroom when i was abt 16 and when i wasn't home my dad would take it and put it in the living room to watch. LMAO

  Sharon O'Malley Bohlin My Dad was Mr. TV. We had TVs everywhere except the living room. By the time I was 10 I new how to test tubes and helped Dad switch them out and put new ones in. We even had an old set on the screen porch. He would loosen the tubes before the winter set in and cover it with a huge plastic cover. All of his wire hook ups used to drive Mom crazy.
