Psycho(original soundtrack) - Bernard Herrmann '61

"It is one of the penalties of advancing years to find one's surroundings haunted by the spectres of the passed away, to tread everywhere on the tombstone of some dear friend, and, briefly, to see one's world --- the only world known to man --- lapsing into ruin."

Sir Richard Burton

Carl Sackis

I would have to say NONE OF THESE to the songs listed for us to choose from. But here are the lyrics to one that identifies me in the '60's at Empehi:

I'M LOOKING AT THE WORLD THROUGH ROSE-COLORED GLASSES,
sung by Frank Sinatra. (J. Steiger, T. Malie)
[Recorded October 3, 1962, Los Angeles]

Looking at the world through rose colored glasses,
Everything is rosy now.
Looking at the world and everything that passes,
Seems of rosy hue somehow.
Why do I feel surprise, don't wink your eyes,
Needn't guess I'll confess, certain someone just said yes.
In a bungalow all covered with roses, I will settle down I vow,
That's why I'm looking at the world through rose colored glasses,
Everything is rosy now.
Oh yes, I'm looking at the world through rose colored glasses,
Everything is rosy now.
Yes, everything is rosy now.

  1. My late friend Holly Hybert Bacon and I concurred shortly before she departed this world that the Byrds...EIGHT MILES HIGH was our Empehi favorite. I'll vote for us both in her absence.
