Jurrasic Plaza in Morgan Park

Jurrasic Plaza

"DINOSAURS Direct from the NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR" read the sign in the Evergreen Plaza. The Evergreen Plaza was one of the earliest shopping centers in the United States(early 1950s). The Evergreen Shopping Plaza was also only 1-1/2 miles from my home on the southwest side of Chicago.

Sinclair Dinoland was a major attraction of the 1964-1965 New York's World Fair! The life-size dinosaurs from that exhibit toured the United Staes for a year after the Fair ended! So at 95th Street and Western Avenue I took this (and other) photos in the summer of 1966. Thus this image of a T-Rex striding through the Plaza parking lot became an indelible image of my youth.
