Shooting in Mount Greenwood Bar

A man was killed in a shooting involving an off-duty Chicago Police officer Sunday evening at a bar in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood near 111th and Spaulding.

Police say when an officer observed a man shooting at another man, the sergeant drew his gun, announced his office and ordered the offender to drop his weapon. When the offender ignored the officer and pointed his weapon at bar patrons, the officer shot the offender.

The original gunshot victim was transported to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, while the offender was pronounced dead at the scene.

Off duty CPD sees one man shoot another / he tells him to drop his weapon but the man starts waving his gun around at patrons of the bar and shooting at police.
They return shots and perp is pronounced dead on the scene.

Southe side of Chicago, baddest part of town and if you go down there you better just beware of a man…

I believe this bar is directly in front of what used to be Erik the Red's back in our day.
