Morgan Park Library on 111th Street

This is a lovely building. My father took me to this library when I was six years old. I could not believe that a building could be this large and impressive and have so many books.

As an adult the library is small and crowded. Interesting the difference of viewpoint of the child and the adult.

Walker Branch, Chicago Public Library

In 1889, George Clarke Walker, a wealthy businessman, donated land and built a library, which, upon its completion, was presented to the Village of Morgan Park. When Morgan Park was annexed to Chicago, the Walker Branch became the third branch of the Chicago Public Library. The architecture is Richardson Romanesque style. The exterior walls are the oldest structure owned by the Chicago Public Library.
