Did you serve in the U.S. military between Nov. 1, 1955 and May 15, 1975? If you’re one of the 7.2 million living Vietnam Veterans, then you are eligible to receive the American Vietnam War lapel pin.
The release of the pins was highlighted last week at the U.S. Capitol, where nearly 500 Vietnam War vets were honored at the 50th anniversary of the conflict.
“A Grateful Nation Thanks and Honors You,” reads the back of the pin. The front features the head of a bald eagle and the stars and stripes.
The U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration is providing the pins to commemorative partner organizations around the country. So far, 2,152 events are planned with 8,524 partners, according to the commemoration website.
