Pizza Gathering at Palermo's on Friday, April 24 @ 7:00PM

There were 6 of us at Palermo's Friday night and it started out rather comically. Three of us, Chris Leo, Bob Laschober and myself, all arrived at about the same time, 6:50PM, and were ushered to a small private room just off the main dining area; we were sitting and talking but nobody else was showing up. I looked at my phone and it was 7:30 already and it showed a phone call at 7:15, which I hadn't heard. The call was from Marlene Walko with a voice mail saying, "Dennis, where are you? We are at Palermo's and are worried about you". I bolted out of the room and there are three more EMPEHI-ites, Marlene, Carol Hager Zalga and Susan McBride Newhard sitting at a table for 10, up near the front of the restaurant. Evidently, somehow there had been 2 reservations for tables for 10 made in my name and the first group were shown to the private room and the second group were seated at a table.

We had a big laugh about that and ordered some drinks and pizzas and had a great time. All six of us were Mount Greenwood graduates, as well, and we had plenty of stories and laughs about grammar school as well as high school. We also raised our slices high and saluted Dave Noren on what would have been his 66th Birthday and told a few memorable Noren stories. Dave started these pizza get-togethers back in 2002 or 2003.

All-in-all, it was a great evening, and we intend to meet again in August. Hope more of you can attend.
Have a great spring and summer.

Hey EMPEH-ites,

I think it's about time for a pizza get-together; don't you? We haven't met since before Thanksgiving and now it's April already. So, finish up your taxes and mark your calendars for Friday, April 24th at 7:00PM at Palermo's Restaurant in Oak Lawn. In case you haven't been there, it's on 95th. Street; about 1 block west of Cicero on the South Side of the street. They have parking or you can use the valet service. Hope to see a lot of you there for an evening of great pizza, lots of laughs and good company.

Please send me an e-mail if you are coming, so I can make the appropriate reservations.
